This theater was truly amazing. You could hear peoples shoes
shuffling on stage the acoustics were so good. It was almost too
much to take in it is so ornate. You spend time marveling at the
theater when you need to be paying attention to the opera
Buenos Aires
Argentina
June 15-20    2005
My original plan was to meet my friend Joe and his family in St Maarten for 2
days. They were on a cruise and their ship was going to be in St Maarten on
June 16. I got to Miami and AA cancelled the last flight to St Maarten so there
was no way I could get there without missing them. So, I sat around MIA all day
and waited for the AA flight 943 all nighter to Buenos Aires. Of course, I left my
ATM card in Texas so I had to get creative in ways of finding cash. Luckily USAA
bank is awesome.

I got 1st class on the 777 and it was awesome. If you are on the sides of the
airplane, you have a seat all to yourself. The seat articulates so you can face
the wall and eat on a table. There is also a small seat across from you where
someone else can sit and eat with you. That seat becomes part of the
fully flat
bed when you are done eating and drinking.

When I got to Argentina I stayed at the River Hotel. I went out with my friend and
fellow skydiver Ripi and he showed me a very good time. I also went to the
Theatro Colon to watch an Italian Opera with my friend Silvina (subtitled in
Spanish so I was pretty lost). The theater was awesome and the acoustics were
incredible.

My digital camera was stolen on my first day in Argentina (because I was stupid)
and thus I have no photos of my own. I flew back on flight 900, which had the old
style first class seats, still nice but not as nice as the new ones. My PVD was
broken so the FA gave me a personal player and recommended the movie
Maria Full of Grace. It was an awesome movie! I highly recommend it.
